Lincoln Continental, a New Concept in Fine Cars
With a traditional black and white 1960’s feel, we are introduced to the Lincoln Continental. With an upbeat melody, a charming voice narrates and directs us through the unique features of the new 1961 Lincoln. The rare two-minute footage was filmed on 16 mm film and was first aired on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" back in November 1960. The commercial hasn’t thought to have been seen by the public in over 50 years. “Classic beauty in a smart new size”, he begins. While focusing on the Continentals new size, (boasting 15 inches shorter than previous models) we are also directed to the Lincoln solid ride, described as a deep cushion of comfort that handles and turns without effort and can be parked with ease. The Continental was the first four-door convertible in America with doors similar to the modern Mazda RX8 style as they open up to the world of interior luxury.
