Honda shows facelifted Euro Civic hatch with new Sport variant
Before the official debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the renewed Civic with Euro-spec's details have been released to the general public. In addition to enough pleasant visual upgrade for both cars (standard Civic and Civic Tourer), a new Civic Sport model will arrive in Paris too.
The new car has a much sportier bumper on the front, while the rear end contains a new, modern set of LED taillights. Honda has also renewed the rear bumper, side skirts and spoiler. You can have typical functions like all the kinds of media, navigation, Bluetooth and radio, as well as the ability to look through internet pages usind a browser. The functions are provided by Honda Connect, an Andoid-powered entertainment system that takes its place in the central console. The whole system is displayed on seven inch screen with such features as pinch, swipe and tap that are familiar to smartphone users.
The new Sport model, though, is not less important. It doesn't have such a powerful 140-horsepower engine with 1.8-liter you can see in a Civic Type R. You can not compare it even with decaf Type R, but it does improve the Civic line with some more aggressive looks. There are standard 17-inch wheels with an inspired front bumper and a new colored rear spoiler. Together with the 1.8-liter gas engine there is an 118-hp diesel mill that displaces 1.6 liters.
