Fiat Grande or the Scorpio Strikes Back!
Having surfed the car forums a day or two ago, I came across the post looking like a real despairing wail. A guy was looking for the complete SS kit for Fiat Grande (he had Punto Abarth in mind) and asking for an advice about the price. In fact, common thing to happen.
But together with everything else he was struck by the question “Why such kits are quite rare in our time?” Listen here, he simply besought them to give away state secrets. What’s the point? Let you in on a little secret.
After Carlo Abarth, the Abarth & C. founder, creating a buzz with Abarth 595, Fiat 500-based, he had practically started the modern era of tined kits. The demand for cheap racing cars became so huge that Abarth could barely cope with the enormous number of applications and appeals. No wonder that that guy had a certain problem. You should be incredible lucky to get the complete Fiat Grande kit in Punto Abarth. You might as well smile and pay up… poor man!
